
This apprenticeship standard develops the skills that individuals need to effectively manage teams and projects in line with a private, public, or voluntary organisation’s operational or departmental strategy. The apprentice operations manager becomes competent in providing leadership, with both operational and project responsibilities. They will have the skills to manage individuals or a team, offering direction, instructions, and guidance to achieve set goals. Whilst specific responsibilities will vary according to the organisation, the generic operations manager skills needed will be the same.

Candidates at this level are likely to already have maths and English skills at more than acceptable levels. However, if they have not gained actual certifications for these subjects, they can gain recognition for their skills at level 2 through the apprenticeship.

Progression options after operations manager apprenticeship
On completion, apprentices can consider progression onto higher-level courses such as an apprenticeship degree.
