Duration

The programme is run part time over a period of up to 16 weeks, although it may take less than this. It includes the process for licence acquisition ie practical driving instruction and tests, along with online classroom sessions.

Cost to individual

There is NO COST to the individual who enrols on this course, as long as they are eligible. This applies whether the individual is employed, looking to change their career direction, or unemployed and wanting to develop their skills to help secure interviews and jobs.

For individuals who do not meet eligibility criteria, we can also offer this course commercially. Please contact us for further information.

Eligibility

Candidate must

  • Be living and/or working in Enterprise Cheshire & Warrington postcode area. (Contact us for a postcode check)
  • Be aged 19 or over
  • Not have done another funded skills bootcamp during the current financial year
  • Have a current car UK valid driving licence (Cat B)
  • Be prepared to attend an induction day at the TRS Driver Training Centre or via a web session

Employer commitments

  • Release candidate to attend the online training sessions
  • If taking on new recruits the employer MUST grant an interview to the candidate at the start or end of the training programme
  • If upskilling an existing employee the employer MUST allow the candidates to progress to an LGV driving role at the end of the programme
  • Contribute to feedback on the course
